Tools for Wonks: Pollster.com

With the noble goal of demystifying political stat-tracking, Pollster.com launched a few days ago, just in time for the primaries. A collaboration between Mystery Pollster Mark Blumenthal, media partner Slate, and University of Wisconsin political scientist Charles Franklin (creator of the blog PoliticalArithmetik), the site presents polling trends and cumulative averages of recent surveys by polling biggies Zogby, Gallup, Rassmussen and others. To get an idea how it works, check out this graphic representation of the Minnesota Senate race between candidate Amy Klobuchar, who now has a solid ten-point lead, and Republican Mark Kennedy, whose campaign gaffes of late are represented by a downtick in support over the last two months.
