The Loch Ness Monster has been
spotted on Minneapolis' Lake Harriet. While some speculation exists, at least by a joking guy
interviewed by KARE-11, that the creature is part of a millfoil-abatement plan, my guess from looking at the website
LakeCreature.com is that it's art. (It's got a
Twitter account, too.) The work has a striking resemblance to that of artist
Cameron Gainer, whose sculptures -- entitled
_[ — have showed up in
Brooklyn,
Key West, and other locales. Gainer, formerly based in New York, now calls Minneapolis home; he's engaged to Walker Art Center director Olga Viso. Next week we'll see if I'm right: the project's site says it'll officially reveal details on Thursday.
