BBC reports Iraqi shoe thrower is being tortured

An update to my last post, which now seems embarrassingly glib: The man who threw his shoes at George W. Bush -- which Bush called a "sign of freedom" in Iraq -- is being tortured while in custody, the BBC and Arab media are reporting. More on the man, Iraqi TV reporter Muntadar al-Zaid, here.
