Too bad. Transit authorities in New York and San Franscisco have asked William Bright, the creator of
isubwaymaps.com, to
stop producing free downloadable transit maps for iPods due to copyright concerns. Good news is that Washington and Boston are fine with allowing him to distribute the digital maps, and Chicago
may still grant permission. As a guy who'd prefer discretely consulting an iPod over paging, all tourist-like, through
TimeOut Berlin for three weeks, I think it's a great idea.
