Repost (sort of): I finally finished listening to the mp3 of Lawrence Lessig and Jeff Tweedy's talk at the New York Public Library on copyright and culture. It's a truly remarkable discussion. Lessig demonstrates why copyright law—on music, software, and films—should be a mainstream concern (rather than just an issue taken up by "pear-shaped men" with ponytails), and Tweedy offers incredible insights on the role of art and the industry that serves to distribute it.
