MoMA's first design show in its new space, Safe: Design Takes on Risk, opens October 16 with an array of products "designed to protect body and mind from dangerous or stressful circumstances, respond to emergencies, ensure clarity of information, and provide a sense of comfort and security." Shown: the Spider Boot Antipersonnel Mine Foot Protection System by Gad Shaanan Design, featuring shrapnel-deflecting boots for minesweepers, and Hill Jephson Robb's womb-shaped shelter Cries and Whispers.
