I'm heading to Germany for a few weeks—Weimar, Frankfurt, and Berlin—so posts will be less frequent and will likely take a more touristy direction. Auf wiedersehen.
Bully for you, Paul. I did a very similar itinerary last September (Berlin, Weimar, Mannheim). I'm sure you're set with destinations, but be sure to see the Kunst-Werke gallery in Berlin Mitte. Jaw-dropping exhibits in a sort of hidden indoor-outdoor space. Days of art exploration to be done in that neighborhood (especially nice on a bike). I felt sorry to leave after only two.
Hi Jake, You must be referring to Tacheles, which I discovered mostly by accident yesterday. Had beers in the open-air bar on the top floor overlooking the outdoor commune and videos screened against the side of an adjacent building. I'm heading back tomorrow to interview some of the founders and take some pix. I'll blog on it eventually.
