Irradiated in Iraq: The spectre of depleted uranium mortar shells raises it's ugly head, again. Four members of the New York-based 442nd Military Police unit have become the Iraq war's first confirmed cases of radiation contamination from DU shells. "These are amazing results, especially since these soldiers were military police not exposed to the heat of battle," said Dr. Asaf Duracovic, who examined the G.I.s.
