TinkyWinky, SpongeBob, Buster and... American Girl?

Rightwing conservatives are taking aim at another cuddly, innocuous childhood icon, the popular American Girl dolls (and not because, in this picture, she looks so French). The American Family Association is urging a boycott of the manufacturer of the dolls because it donates to Girls Inc., a "youth organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold... [and to] confront subtle societal messages about their value and potential, and prepare them to lead successful, independent, and fulfilling lives." But conservatives know it's really "a pro-abortion, pro-lesbian advocacy group."

"Parents need to know that this effort to promote self-esteem among girls is not as innocent as it seems," says Ann Scheidler, head of The Pro-Life Action League. "While Girls Inc. has some good programs, they also support abortion, oppose abstinence-only education for girls, and condone lesbianism."

Hmmm... strong, smart, bold and independent = baby-killing lesbian slut... So does that mean the paragon of femininity for the right wing, the stay-at-home mom who lives only to serve her husband and children, is weak, dumb, passive and clinging?

"support abortion, oppose abstinence-only education for girls, and condone lesbianism." ...In other words they exhibit the kind of intelligence and tolerance that terrifies these small-minded idiots. They can't even manage to police their own ranks (Ted Haggard, et. all.), let alone other reasonable people who don't subscribe to their mean-spirited, twisted "morality".

Having moral fiber = mean spirited? What I find interesting is how those who espouse liberal values are quick to disallow anyone with differeing views. To have a moral set of values (i.e. murder is wrong, a bit more severe, but the example is still valid). Homosexual conduct can not produce a child. Even without a religious perspective, it's against nature. On another note, what is wrong with abstinense education? Teach moral values and yes, this can work. I don't subscribe to the idea of a subservient woman. But I do subscribe to values of saving all children (even the unborn), rejecting homosexual conduct as acceptable behavior and uphold the idea of one man with one woman to create a wholesome family.
